We have a wonderful team of volunteers. As the Mission: Mobility network has grown, it is amazing how many have gotten involved. From all across the country, volunteers have joined in equipment collection as a result of serving on a mission trip in Guatemala and participating in a wheelchair distribution with Bethel Ministries.
Many volunteers because they want to join On His Path in the collection effort. We do have a few very unique callings. One volunteer had no connection to Mission: Mobility or Bethel Ministries. While taking a walk one day in his hometown in Montana, Roger saw a bunch of wheelchairs sitting by a dumpster at a rehab center. He went inside and asked if he could have them. They asked what his intentions were. He said, “I have NO idea, I just have a feeling that I should get them.” Ultimately, he found us and those chairs are now benefiting many people in great need in Guatemala.
Another recent call I received was from a total stranger in California. Our new friend woke up in the night hearing a loud and clear voice, “GUATEMALA, WHEELCHAIRS .” It shook him up enough to send him to the computer. He said he figured God was trying to tell him something. A primary google search showed him that Bethel Ministries International was the largest wheelchair provider to Guatemala…..his next link was to Mission: Mobility. He emailed me immediately, offering to help. Several phone calls followed. We now have a friend in the Los Angeles area searching for wheelchairs!
Whether it is the Holy Spirit nudging you or God calling out in an audible voice or you simply want to help, we welcome all volunteers. He will call on me, and I will answer him. Psalm 91:15 Whether you find one pair of crutches or a trailer load of wheelchairs, each and every item is important and they all add up to a container load of BLESSINGS that Mission: Mobility and On His Path can ship to Bethel to TRANSFORM lives. To use a phrase that Joni and Friends have on a t-shirt…..“it’s not about the wheels!” It is about reaching the people ultimately with the Gospel!
We thank all of our volunteers for all of their hard work!
